Walnuts are rich in omega-3, fatty acids, antioxidants and promote healthy brain and gut. Recent research published in the journal Nutrients, shows that walnuts help in reducing stress in students.

The team conducted a trial on a group of 80 undergraduate students and assessed them during three intervals i.e in the beginning of an exam, during an exam and two weeks after the exam.

Students in the trail group were given walnuts daily for 16 weeks and found that those who consumed half a cup of walnuts every day showed improvement in mental health and overall sleep quality and the ones who did not, reported increased depression and stress level.
