Paan, with its aromatic blend of betel leaf, areca nut, and various flavorful ingredients, holds a special place in the heart of India. Its widespread popularity transcends regional boundaries, and it serves as a cherished cultural tradition, symbolizing hospitality, social bonding, and a delightful post-meal indulgence for millions across the country.

Nawab Gold Paan

There are various kinds of paan lovers but to buy this paan you might have to be pretty rich. Why you ask? Made by Delhi based paan vendor Anita Lalwani Surana, this paan is made of 24 carat real gold betel leaf. To make it more exotic saffron and jelly infused with gold flakes were also added to the paan. The video of its making has taken the internet by storm with hilarious comments pouring in. This paan is available Yamu's Panchayat, Connaught Place, New Delhi.

Ingredients of Nawab Gold Paan

This special paan is prepared by spreading lime water and a katha paste on the surface. Ingredients like saffron and jelly infused with gold flakes are added. Silver edible leaves on also put on the paan, alongwith dry edible gold flakes. The paan also included ingredients like areca nut, sauf, and assortment of jelly-like pastes with various flavours. Finally the paan is garnished with Indian spices like cardamom, saffron, cloves, aniseed, turmeric, mustard, and sweeteners to add extra flavour.
