If your screen time says that you spend more time on LinkedIn rather than Instagram then congratulations, you are a grown adult. And, also you must have come across the terms quiet quitting, FIRE movement, moonlighting, etc. on LinkedIn. Another such term getting attention among professionals is 'Quiet Firing'. Notably, this is not something new but is something that you should be worried about.
Quiet firing is when a person is being sidelined at work, they go years without getting a raise, their responsibilities are shifted to someone else and are far from getting leadership opportunities. All of this results in forcing the targeted employees to put down their papers without the management actually telling them that they are fired. The management thus has the ball in its court.
Recently, LinkedIn did a poll in which there were more than 200,000 respondents and around 48% said that they have witnessed a colleague being a victim of quiet firing.
*Your raise gets delayed every year.
*The opportunities you wanted are assigned to other team members.
*You are placed in an unreasonable performance improvement plan.
*You are not informed about important team meetings.
*Your boss starts avoiding a 1-on-1 conversation with you.
