A piece of shocking news has come to light as a 21-year-old Chinese influencer died while attending a weight-loss boot camp in northwestern China.
According to CNN, the 21-year-old used to post videos under the name Cuihua. She was trying to lose her body weight so that she could inspire her followers.
The state media outlets in China reported that Cuihua was documenting her weight loss journey to her tens of thousands of followers on China's version of the TikTok application, Douyin.
The 21-year-old had been going to the boot camp where she was doing intensive workouts. Earlier, she weighed 156 kg and was trying to lose around 100 kg.
Notably, after the demise of the 21-year-old girl, the camp in Shaanxi gave compensation to the influencer's family.
After this incident came to light, the scrutiny over the influencer industry increased. Earlier, another Chinese influencer was in the news as he died after several bottles of alcohol during a live-steam as a part of social media challenge.
