AstraZeneca, the manufacturer of the Covishield vaccine, has acknowledged serious side effects of the vaccine, including blood clots, stroke and slow heart rate. To mitigate the risk of blood clotting, you must adopt lifestyle changes such as exercising for at least 30 minutes daily, staying hydrated and maintaining a healthy diet. You must avoid smoking and alcohol.

To reduce the likelihood of blood clotting, incorporate blood-thinning foods into your diet such as ginger, garlic, turmeric, fish oil, and vitamin C-rich foods like almonds, sunflower seeds, spinach, oranges, lemons and grapes.

What is blood clotting?

Blood clotting, also known as coagulation, is a crucial process that prevents excessive bleeding when the body is injured. It involves a series of complex steps where blood changes from a liquid to a gel-like state, forming a clot to stop bleeding. This process involves platelets, which are small cell fragments in the blood, and various proteins called clotting factors.

Opt for healthy lifestyle changes

Regular Exercise: Engage in physical activity for at least 30 minutes daily to promote blood circulation and reduce the risk of clot formation.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to maintain adequate blood volume and prevent blood from thickening.

Healthy Diet: Adopt a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Avoid excessive intake of saturated fats and processed foods, which can contribute to clotting issues.

Limit Alcohol: Reduce alcohol consumption, as excessive alcohol intake can increase the risk of blood clotting.

Quit Smoking: Smoking damages blood vessels and increases the risk of clot formation. Quitting smoking can significantly improve cardiovascular health.

Maintain a Healthy Weight: Obesity is a risk factor for blood clotting disorders. Maintain a healthy weight through balanced diet and regular exercise.

Manage Stress: Chronic stress can contribute to clotting issues. Practice stress-reducing activities such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.
