You may not like beetroot juice, but you must know that it has all the qualities of replacing your workout supplements.
According to a study published in the journal Acta Physiologica, dietary nitrates present in beetroot juice can increase muscle strength before a workout. This was found in a study where experts looked at the distribution of nitrates in the muscles, urine, saliva and blood of 10 healthy young men who performed leg exercises.
However, it was not clear from the study about how the body converts this molecule into a chemical that cells use.
