Martial arts icon Bruce Lee died on July 20, 1973, and after 50 years of his death, a study is claiming that the actor may have died from drinking too much water.
Earlier, the doctors believed that Lee died because of brain swelling that was caused due to painkillers. However, in a recent study published in the Clinical Kidney Journal, the researchers said that Lee died of a rare condition in which his kidneys were unable to eliminate extra water.
Scientists said that Lee may have died from hyponatraemia. In this condition, thirst increases but the kidneys are unable to excrete water and that causes kidney damage.
Researchers concluded saying that ironically, Lee made the quote famous, 'Be water my friend,' but excessive water intake appears to have ultimately killed him.
