Too much of everything is bad. No one is unaware of the saying and a recent study is proving exactly that. Green tea is definitely beneficial for health but according to a study too much green tea extract might damage our liver.

The research was published in The Journal of Dietary Supplements which used data from the Minnesota Green Tea Trial. The team ingested participants with 843 milligrams of a predominant antioxidant found in green tea every day for a year. It was found that people with certain genetic variations are more likely to suffer liver damage as compared to others.

Experts say more than 24 cups of green tea in a day might be harmful for the liver. Hence, it’s suggested to consume green tea mindfully just like any other beverage rich in caffeine.
