Intermittent fasting has become popular as a method to lose weight in recent years. And, according to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, this diet may also help reverse type 2 diabetes.
For the study, researchers examined 72 individuals who were on an intermittent fasting diet for three months. Each had type 2 diabetes for 1–11 years.
They found that intermittent fasting reversed type 2 diabetes in nearly half of the study’s participants and it could be a promising dietary option for people with type 2 diabetes.
However, further research is required to prove the same.
