If you think you're using a clean toothbrush, you might be wrong. If you too keep your toothbrush close to or inside your toilet, it might be catching fecal particles.
A Florida based dentist Dr. Jordan Brown has shared a video on TikTok stating the same. He also explained that aerosols from the toilet spray up all around the air and stays there for long when we flush. So, it's better to close the lid when flush is used.
According to Brown, covering the toothbrush also doesn't help as it keeps the bristles moist resulting in the growth of bacteria on them.
