Covid 19 ranks last among the four major causes of death in the US: Report

According to a report by the National Centre for Health Statistics' (NCHS) National Vital Statistics System (NVSS), over 3.2 million deaths have been reported in the United States of America in the year 2022.

The report recognised 4 major causes of deaths. While heart disease killed 699,659 people in the US, cancer caused 607,790 deaths and unintentional injuries caused 218,064 deaths.

COVID-19 dropped to rank fourth, causing about 244,986 deaths in 2022, which is just 7.5 per cent of all the other deaths. It was replaced by unintentional injuries as the third largest cause of death in 2022, after huge number of deaths were caused due to drug overdose.
