Drinking water is essential for sustaining life, hydrating the body, and supporting overall health. Ensuring an adequate intake of water promotes proper bodily functions and helps maintain hydration levels.

Dietitian Simran Vohra has shared the seven best times to drink water in a day. She suggests drinking water right after waking up to activate internal organs. Drinking water after a workout brings the heart rate back to normal and 30 minutes before a meal to aid digestion. Drink water before taking a bath to lower blood pressure, before going to bed to replenish fluid levels, when feeling tired and sweating to recharge the body and when sick to hydrate for proper function.

Best time to drink water

  • Upon Waking Up: Rehydrate your body and activate internal organs after a night's rest.
  • After a Workout: Replenish lost fluids and bring your heart rate back to normal.
  • Before Meals: Aid digestion by drinking water 30 minutes before eating
  • Before Bathing: Help lower blood pressure by hydrating before taking a bath.
  • Before Bedtime: Replenish fluid levels before going to sleep for overnight hydration.
  • When Feeling Tired: Recharge your body by drinking water when feeling fatigued.
  • When Sick: Hydrate your body to support proper function during illness.
