Drinking RO water is common in every household, but consuming it regularly may cause vitamin B12 deficiency.

A recent study conducted by SSG Hospital has revealed that drinking RO-purified water is a risk factor as cobalt gets removed from the RO system which is an essential compound of vitamin B12.

The study was conducted on 160 patients with B12 deficiency and 160 with normal B12 limit and later it was concluded that those who drink RO water experienced 3.61 higher odds of vitamin B12 deficiency compared to others.
