Generally, the number of warm clothes a baby needs depends on various factors such as the ambient temperature, the baby's age, and individual preferences.
However, parents often get confused about how many layers of clothes they should cover their babies with during the winters. Pediatrician Dr. Santosh has cleared this confusion on Instagram. According to the doctor, to protect the baby from cold, covering them with only one extra layer of clothes than the number of layers you are wearing is enough. According to him, if you dress your baby in extra clothes than required, it can make them feel uncomfortable. So, just dress your baby in one extra layer than yourself.
Besides this you must keep a few things in mind to protect your baby from cold temperature your baby is in. Pay attention to the room temperature. If it's colder, add an extra layer. If the room is warm, you may need fewer layers.
Sleep sacks or wearable blankets are safe alternatives to loose blankets. They keep the baby warm without the risk of covering their face.
