Breakups hurt the most and now we know the scientific reason behind it.

According to the report published by Live Science, people often go through a lot of emotions while dealing with sudden demise of a loved ones or falling out of love.

Experts explain that when someone falls in love there's a natural outpouring of the cuddle hormone called oxytocin and the feel-good hormone dopamine.

And when someone suddenly falls out of love the levels of these hormones drop resulting in increase of the stress hormone cortisol which can cause weight gain, anxiety and high blood pressure.

As per the report, in a few cases, pain due to a broken heart can be a medical condition called broken heart syndrome which lasts for a short duration.
