Loved by our favouite stars Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, the hottest hairstyle of the year 'clean girl bun' may cause permanent hair loss, according to experts.

Repeatedly slicking your hair back can lead to traction alopecia, a type of hair loss caused by tightly pulled hairstyles such as ponytails, buns, braids and dreadlocks.

Traction alopecia can cause redness, bumps, soreness, blisters and itching on the scalp.

The American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD) also suggests that people should avoid wearing tightly pulled hairstyles every day.
