A new study has suggested that people are more likely to suffer from a serious heart attack on a Monday compared to other days of the week. The research was presented at the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) conference.
For the study, researchers looked at more than 20,000 patients. They found that ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) which is one of the most serious types of heart attack was seen in patients on Monday.
The team also listed one of the main causes of heart attacks on Mondays which included returning to work as it increases the levels of stress hormone cortisol.
