We are all aware of the importance of healthy cooking practices to maximise nutrition. Recently, nutritionist Juhi Kapoor took to Instagram and shared whether you should discard the water after soaking grains in it or not.

As per the nutritionist, instead of throwing away one should use the water for cooking or making dough. The phytates present in grains or pulses have minerals that get leeched into the water they are soaked into. This water also contains Vitamin B which is beneficial for health.

However, certain things should be kept in mind such as grains and pulses should be washed properly before soaking them and they should be soaked for at least 2-4 hours at room temperature.
