Listening to music can help cancer patients deal with pain and anxiety, says study

Research conducted recently has found that music therapy may help to reduce anxiety in cancer patients. The study was conducted by University Hospitals Connor Whole Health on 1,500 patients over the course of 2,400 encounters. 

It was found that patients with cancer or sickle cell disease, who received music therapy, showed less pain and anxiety. Patients who did not receive music therapy showed higher levels of anxiety.

It was concluded in the study that patients with SCD and HemOnc group showed not only reduction in anxiety, pain, and fatigue, but also an improvement in their mood.
