We often plan barbeque at home or love going out for a bbq meal. But are you aware that barbequed meat is not as healthy as you think?
Nutritionist Anjali Mukerjee recently took to Instagram to share why smoked meat is unhealthy and there have been several studies that link it to various kinds of cancer.
According to her Smoking, grilling, frying, barbequing and roasting meat at high temperature produces many heterocyclic amines (HCAs) that may damage heart health, genetic material and ageing process in your body. Also, consuming it over a period of time may increase risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
She suggests having barbequed meat only occasionally and balance it with raw veggies and fruits. You can also squeeze some lemon and add raw onion and radish to counteract the damage.
