In the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, numerous individuals turn to holistic practices and natural remedies. One such health-conscious individual is actor Mini Mathur, who kickstarts her day with a refreshing glass of basil seeds water, also known as sabja seeds water. This ancient practice has gained popularity due to its potential health benefits, particularly for digestion and overall well-being.

Basil seeds, also known as sabja seeds or tukmaria, are derived from the sweet basil plant (Ocimum basilicum). These tiny black seeds are a common ingredient in traditional Indian drinks and desserts. The seeds have a unique property: when soaked in water, they swell up and develop a gel-like coating around them, making them a popular choice in various culinary applications.

There are numerous health benefits of basil seeds water and some of them are that they improve digestion, keep the body hydrated, are rich in dietary fibre, and as per studies, may also help regulate blood sugar levels.

How to consume basil seed water?

Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of basil seeds in a glass of water and soak them for approximately 15 minutes, until they swell. Once it is done, you can go ahead and drink it.
