Ministry of Health released the heat stroke symptoms in children; know here

Amid the unusual rise in temperature across many regions like Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Telangana among others are recording scorching heat with the temperature crossing over 40 degrees Celsius. 

The IMD anticipates that the heatwave conditions in Delhi will persist until June 15, with the sudden urge in a heatwave. 

Keeping, the extreme heat weather in mind, the Ministry of Health has released the warning signs of heat stroke in children.

According to the health ministry, here are some symptoms of heat stroke. 

  • Refusal to feed
  • Excessive irritability
  • Decreased urine output
  • Dry oral mucosa and absence of tear/sunken eyes
  • Lethargy/altered sensorium
  • Seizures
  • Bleeding from any site

The health ministry has also suggested seeking immediate medical attention if you observe any of these symptoms. 

To prevent your children from heat stroke here are some measures you can follow

  • Make sure your child is indoors in the peak hours of the sun
  • Keep them hydrated with cold fluids and hydration drinks
  • Feed them with a sufficient amount of seasonal fruits
  • In case your child is feeling nauseous get emergency medical care right away
