Till now contraceptive medicines were distributed in the market only for women to prevent unwanted pregnancy, but according to a recent research published in Nature Communications Journal, now men can also take contraceptive pills. 
These pills will prevent pregnancy for at least 2 hours if taken 30 minutes prior to sex. 

How does this pill work?

The pill will prevent the sperm from swimming towards the eggs stopping them from being fertilized. According to researchers, this pill is 100 per cent effective and is capable of making men temporarily infertile.

Study was conducted on mice 

This study was done on mice, in which it was revealed that this medicine had destroyed the fertility of rats in just 30 minutes and no negative effects were observed on them. There was no effect on their sexual behaviour as well.

How long is this pill effective? 

According to the study, the effect of this pill remains 100% effective for the first 2 hours. It reduces up to 91% for the first three hours and 24 hours later the effect evades completely.
