Have you ever sipped your cold or energy drink straight from the can? If you have, it's time to rethink that habit. Nutritionist Simrun Chopra advises that these containers can introduce various harmful bacteria and infections into your system, potentially leading to a range of health issues.

Cans go through a process where they're manufactured, then sent to the beverage company, and finally stored in their warehouse before being used for packaging drinks. During their time in storage, they aren't regularly cleaned or washed, which means there's a chance of rodents coming into contact with them, possibly contaminating some with urine or faeces.

For the sake of your health, it's a good idea to pour the drink into a glass or use a straw to minimize the risk of these serious health hazards.
