Physical activities are known to lower your chances of developing a number of diseases, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and cancer. According to the NHS, adults should engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise each week.
Researchers at the University of Cambridge examined almost 15,000 adults aged over 60 years, found that the reduction in the amount of time spent being physically active is linked to lower quality of life.
After the 6-year-long study, it was found that men and women who were doing less than or about 24 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity had their life scores dropped. Whereas, those who spent their time being more active are associated with higher quality of life.
