According to a recent meta-analysis published in the journal Cognitive Behavior Therapy, perfectionism may lead to mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

The study conducted on individuals aged 6 to 24 years found that perfectionism is associated with mental health problems in young individuals.

Furthermore, the link between perfectionism and mental health issues was more prominent among those already grappling with symptoms of mental health conditions.

This study adds to existing research highlighting the negative consequences of perfectionism. The pursuit of an idealised self, driven by societal pressures related to performance, status, and appearance, has become increasingly desirable in today's world, as mentioned in an article published by the World Economic Forum.
