Bloating during menstruation is very common. Nutritonist Lovneet Batra shared a post on Instagram suggesting to try 5 foods which are helpful in reducing bloating during periods.
Ginger: Ginger has anti-inflammatory effects, which can soothe achy muscles.
Carom seeds or ajjwain: Thymol, a compound in carom seeds or ajjwain helps in secreting gastric juices which alleviates gas, bloating and cramps.
Fennel seeds: Fennel or saunf relaxes passages in gastrointestinal tract, allowing gas to pass and subdues bloating.
Jaggery: Jaggery or gud is rich in potassium and lowers sodium content which helps in maintaining the acid balance in our cells, resulting in relief from bloating.
Banana: Bananas are rich in B6 and potassium which prevents water-retention and reduces bloating and cramp pain.
