As the New Year dawns, many embrace resolutions centered on fostering better health, both physical and mental. It's a time to prioritize well-being, committing to mindful practices that nurture the body and cultivate a resilient mind. Ahead of the new year psychotherapist, Nicholette Leanza has shared mental health trends that she expects will be prevalent in 2024, while speaking with Fox News Digital.
Music as therapy
The therapist says that with the trend of artist obsession, people will continue to turn to music for relaxation and coping with anxiety.
Weight loss anxiety
Leanza anticipates that people will understand the emotional impact of significant weight loss and how that may affect mental health. She said, “People are going to need to reflect within and focus on building strong body perception now more than ever.”
Year around sober curious
According to Leanza, instead of just January, people next year will turn to staying sober throughout the year or drink in moderation.
Mental health awareness
The therapist expects people to work more on their mental health issues. She says taking time off from work may help deal with it. She also expects more companies to offer mental health support to their employees in 2024.
Mental health advice from social media
As social media is full of people talking about health and mental health, Leanza expects people will start refraining from taking discerning content on social media seriously and will rather turn to professionals for help.
