Do you also feel guilty for not working out daily? Well, here's some good news for you.
According to a research, people who workout twice a week or just over the weekends, (weekend warrior) benefit just almost as much as those who work out every day.
A study done in the US, over 350,000 adults for the past decade in average, found that people who workout just twice a week or only during the weekends, commonly called 'weekend warriors' lower the risk of premature death.
According to the study, out of almost 22,000 deaths, there were 8 percent fewer weekend warriors and 15 percent fewer active individuals.
The report which was published in 'JAMA Internal Medicine' found that both the groups had cause-specific mortality, when performing the same amount of physical activity.
The findings also suggest that moderate amount of physical activities whether spread over a week or the weekends don't really have specific difference in health benefits.
So, don't worry if you struggle to take out time for a workout everyday. It's all good in the hood till the time you are actively moving.
