Published in the journal of Alzheimer's Disease, a new study has found that middle-aged smokers are more likely to experience memory loss and confusion than non-smokers.

For the study, researchers analysed more than 136,018 people aged 45 and older and about 11% reported a cognitive decline.

As per the findings, the cognitive decline among smokers was almost 1.9 times that of nonsmokers and it declined in people recently who quit smoking.
