Opt for cool, healthy drinks
Sugary drinks can be highly tempting when the temperature rises, but they don’t have a lot of nutritional benefits. Stick to plain water or healthier beverages like coconut water, sugarcane juice, fresh homemade smoothies, milkshakes, buttermilk, or lemon water.
Monitor your caffeine & alcohol intake
As fascinating as it might be to go for a glass of iced americano or a pint of chilled beer, caffeine and alcohol can cause dehydration. Monitor your intake and rehydrate with double the amounts of water for every caffeinated or alcoholic drink you consume.
Eat seasonal
Go for local, seasonal, fresh produce. Seasonal fruits and vegetables like cucumber, watermelon, muskmelon and mango will provide you with the proper nutrients.
Hydrate & don’t forget the electrolytes
Sweating and drinking a lot of water can dilute our electrolyte levels and lead to electrolyte imbalance. Boost your electrolytes intake; look for electrolyte-rich drinks like coconut water and fresh lemonade with a little extra salt or add chia seeds.
Eat healthy for your skin
Our skin needs slightly more protection from the sun during summers. Beyond taking measures to protect the skin with SPF, we can also opt for underrated skincare solutions through food. Try to consume more tomatoes, yogurt, mangoes and watermelon for healthy and glowing skin.
