It is not an unknown fact that honey does wonders for both our skin and body. Experts suggest that it is beneficial in maintaining high blood pressure, cholesterol and also prevents heart-related problems.

It has been once again proven by a recent study published in Nutrition Reviews journal which says that honey is a complex composition of several organic acids, bioactive compounds, sugar and organic acids which is much more beneficial than any other sugary item.

Previous studies have also associated antioxidants in honey with lowering risk of type-2 diabetes.

Studies were done on 1000 people, who consumed 2 tablespoons or 40 grams of honey for 8 weeks. It was concluded that raw honey is much more beneficial. Experts hence, suggest switching from sugar to honey as a healthier option.
