Krishna Janmashtami is one of the prominent festivals of Hindus. This festival is celebrated with zeal and zest across the country. This year, the auspicious festival will be observed on August 19, 2022.
It is believed that on this day Lord Krishna was born and to celebrate his birthday, a special prasad is made. This prasad is called makhana paag and is known as quite unique and can be made easily.

Step 1: You need to cut the makhanas into halves and keep them in a bowl.
Step 2: Now, take a pan and preheat for 1-2 minutes, once the pan is hot, add ghee and let it melt.
Step 3: In this step, you need to add chopped makhanas to the pan. You have to stir them till they are brown in colour.
Step 4: Now, you can take out the makhanas from the pan and let it cool for some time.
Step 5: In this step, prepare the chashni and for that add powdered sugar to the pan along with water. Cook till it completely melts and attains a similar consistency.
Step 6: Now is the time to add fried makhanas to the sugar syrup. One can garnish the paag with grated coconut and stir it well to give a nice coating.
Step 7: Transfer it to a plate and ta-dah! Makhana paag prasad is ready.
