A new acronym, IJBOL, is doing the rounds on social media, leaving users confused. Some have even speculated that it might be a word in Korean or some other language. But it's actually a term similar to LOL and LMAO.
IJBOL is short for 'I just burst out laughing' and might just end up replacing LMAO. According to Urban Dictionary, IJBOL was coined in 2009 but did not garner much attention at the time.
Then in 2021, it began to be widely used in the K-pop fan community, leading some people to believe that it's a Korean word. With people now finding out what IJBOL stands for, bewildered reactions have been surfacing online.
A social media user said, "'I just burst out laughing.' I thought this entire time it was a foreign word."
