Navratri, a vibrant and sacred Hindu festival, spans nine nights and ten days, dedicated to the divine feminine energies. It celebrates the various incarnations of Goddess Durga, signifying the triumph of good over evil.

Each day holds its unique significance, with devotees engaging in fervent prayers, fasting, and cultural festivities. The festival's spirited dance form, Garba, and Dandiya Raas, bring communities together in joyful celebration.

Navratri also holds regional variations, but the underlying theme remains the worship of the Goddess in her various forms, invoking strength, prosperity, and wisdom. It is a time of introspection, devotion, and the renewal of faith, fostering a sense of unity and spiritual upliftment amongst believers.

During Navratri, our primary devotion is directed towards Durga, encompassing reverence for Kali and Lakshmi. However, Saraswati receives the utmost veneration due to the immortal nature of knowledge- "Amritam tu vidya", according to Jyotish Acharya, Bani Singh Chadha. 

Commencing on the 20th of October, Saraswati Puja persists until the final day of Navratri on the 23rd of October, culminating with Saraswati Visarjan. This ritual signifies the supreme power of intellect "Buddhi shakti." Post the Saraswati Visarjan on Dussehra, we conduct the Vidya Aarambh sanskar for children, highlighting the initiation of education and learning.
