Ramadan also known as Ramzan, is the ninth month in the Muslim Lunar calendar. It is considered to be a holy month and usually lasts for 29-30 days. The month begins with fasting (Roza) which goes on for 30 days and ends with Eid-Ul-Fitr. Although the date will be decided according to the sighting of the crescent moon, this year, it may begin from the evening of April 2 and go on till May 2.

According to Islamic culture, Ramadan is the month when the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad. This month is marked by fasting and prayer. ‘Sehri’ is the meal that is consumed before beginning the fast while ‘Iftar’ is the meal with which the fast is broken.
