Summer is here! Heatwave warnings have already started, and we have not even stepped in May. While we take all precautions to take care of our health, keeping in mind our pet's health is also of utmost importance.
This summer save your pets from the scorching heat by following these few simple tips.
Always provide with fresh water
Always ensure your pets have access to fresh, clean water. Hydration is key to preventing heatstroke and dehydration, especially during hot days.
Change walk timings
Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Instead, schedule walks and playtime for cooler times, such as early morning or evening.
Feed them food rich in fatty acid
In hot weather, give your pets food items which contain fatty acids. Fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids. This plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy skin and a shiny coat.
Feed them watermelon and curd
Add watermelon and curd to your dog and cat's diet as summer approaches. You can also replace red meat with white meat like chicken.
Anti-oxidant rich foods
Provide dogs and cats with anti-oxidant-rich foods as this will help keep their fur shiny.
Keep them in cooler rooms
Do not leave your pets outside in this warm weather. Make sure to keep them with you in cooler rooms.
Get them a haircut
Just like humans, pets too need a haircut that can make them more comfortable in the hot weather. Take them to a groomer and get them a cool haircut!
