Ambedkar Jayanti 2024: Ambedkar Jayanti is being celebrated in India paying homage to Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar who was born on April 14, 1891.

Did you know that Ambedkar National Memorial is an open book shaped museum located in New Delhi which dedicated to the Constitution of India and Dr. B R Ambedkar who played a pivotal role in drafting it. 

Where is Ambedkar National Memorial located? 

Ambedkar National Memorial is located at 26 Alipur Road, New Delhi. The nearest metro station to the museum is the Vidhan Sabha station on the yellow line of the Delhi Metro. It remains open from 10 am to 7 pm from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Monday. 

When was the Ambedkar National Memorial inaugurated? 

It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 13, 2018, on the occasion of Ambedkar's 127th birth anniversary. 

The memorial includes a museum that showcases Dr. Ambedkar's life, his struggles against social discrimination, his contributions to the drafting of the Indian Constitution, and his vision for a just and equitable society.

It also houses a meditation hall known as the 'Vipassana Pagoda', where visitors can meditate and reflect on Dr. Ambedkar's teachings.
