IRCTC: Ministry of Railway to run 'Azadi Ki Amrit Yatra' during 76th Independence Day

This year the Ministry of Railways is celebrating India's 76th Independence Day by running a special 'Azadi ki Amrit Yatra' tour on its Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train covering destinations associated with India's freedom struggle. 

Few of the tourist destinations to be covered

The IRCTC is offering to cover to cover tourists destinations including Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Salt Memorial at Dandi, Yerawada Jail & Aga Khan Palace in Pune and Jhansi Fort along with pilgrimage sites Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga temple, Shirdi, Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga temple etc.

Details of the tour package

The train will depart on August 22 from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station for 08 nights and 09 days which will accommodate 204 tourists. The price for this package starts from ₹ 31,731 to ₹ 68,145 depending on the AC coupe.

Amenities provided

The modern Deluxe AC Tourist Train has a host of amazing features which include:

  • Two fine dining restaurants
  • A contemporary kitchen
  • Shower cubicles in coaches
  • Sensor based washroom functions
  • Foot massager
  • A mini library

The fully air-conditioned train provides three types of accommodation viz. AC I, AC II and AC III. The train has enhanced security features like CCTV cameras, electronic safes and dedicated security guards appointed for each coach.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train launch is in line with the Government of India's initiative Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and Dekho Apna Desh to promote domestic tourism.
