The extended weekends during Holi and Good Friday offer Indians a wonderful opportunity to plan longer trips, whether within India or abroad.

According to the digital travel platform Agoda, Goa and Dubai are the top destinations for Indians planning to travel during the long weekends in March 2024.

Agoda's search data analysis revealed Dubai as the top favourite international travel destination. For domestic travel, Goa emerges as the most sought-after destination for Holi and Good Friday.

In addition to Goa, Mumbai, Udaipur, New Delhi & NCR, and Jaipur are among the top domestic travel destinations. On the other hand, after Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Bali, and Phuket rank high among international favourites.

Heading north in India, Udaipur, known as the 'City of Lakes,' stands out as one of the top destinations that Indians are eager to explore during the long weekends.

This city provides a tranquil getaway for those interested in delving into its rich history and architectural wonders. Additionally, Delhi NCR and Jaipur are prominent domestic destinations, ranking fourth and fifth, respectively.

Renowned for their bustling markets, lively streets, and remarkable architecture, both cities allure travelers seeking a blend of urban vibrancy and cultural immersion.

Essentials to carry on a long weekend trip

Toiletries: Bring travel-sized toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. Don't forget items like sunscreen, moisturizer, and lip balm for skincare.

Medications: Remember to pack any necessary medications in their original containers. It's also a good idea to carry a basic first aid kit with band-aids, pain relievers, and other essentials.

Travel Documents: Don't leave home without essential documents like your ID, passport (if traveling internationally), travel insurance information, and any reservations or tickets.

Electronics: Bring chargers for your phone, camera, and other devices. A portable charger can also come in handy for keeping your devices powered up while on the go.

Snacks and Water: Carry some snacks like granola bars, nuts, or fruit to keep hunger at bay between meals. Stay hydrated by bringing a refillable water bottle.

Travel Accessories: Pack items like a travel pillow, eye mask, earplugs, and headphones to make your journey more comfortable. A small day bag or backpack is also useful for carrying essentials during day trips.

Entertainment: Bring along a book, magazine, or download movies or podcasts to keep yourself entertained during downtime.
