13th February is celebrated as World Radio Day. Radio is one of the oldest mediums of broadcast in India.
It began even before All India Radio came into existence. In June 1923 the Radio Club of Bombay made the first ever broadcast in the country. In the year 1937, All India Radio came into existence and connected millions of people all across the nation and borders.
The All India Radio headquarter is located at Parliament Street in New Delhi and still operates 18 FM stereo channels at present. This Radio Day take a virtual tour of the place with us.
