The second and final phase of voting in Gujarat is taking place today with 93 constituencies up for grabs, and 833 candidates in the fray. Polling is taking place across 14 districts of central and northern Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Gandhinagar with 2.5 crore eligible voters. In 2017, the BJP won 48 of 89 seats in the first phase, and 51 in the second phase, taking its total to 99 out of 182 seats. The Congress party won 38 in the first phase and 39 in the second phase in the 2017 polls.
