Luxury French fashion house Hermès known for its classic handbags and scarves has entered a partnership with biomaterial firm MycoWorks to develop a leather-like material made from mushrooms.

The duo's first product to be launched using the said leather is an interpretation of Hermès' iconic Victoria travel bag.

This collaboration has spent three years developing the material and pairs expertise in tanning the highest quality materials with the tools of biotechnology, the duo said in a joint statement.
