A Kerala-based pickle start-up is making headlines not just for its innovative take on pickles but also for being the first such brand in the state to accept payments in cryptocurrency.

Athey Nallatha retails fusion pickles such as papaya-prawn, beetroot-chicken or sour mango-fish, among others, made by women in Kochi and nearby suburbs.

Founded in June 2020 by two management graduates, Athey Nallatha uses the CoinBase payment platform and has already cleared over 30 such crypto transactions since launching the initiative on August 28, 2021.
