The hole in the Ozone layer is healing. Ozone is the protective layer in our atmosphere that shields us from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. The thinning of this protective layer began in the late 70's.
Since 2000, the ozone has been recovering at a rate of 1-3% per decade. This figure is achieved through sustained international co-operation and if we are careful, it will have recovered completely by 2060.
