India tour of West Indies: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & Bumrah rested from ODIs, Shikhar Dhawan to lead

BCCI on Wednesday announced India's squad for the 3-match ODI series against the West Indies. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested from the ODI leg and Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team in their absence.

Ravindra Jadeja has been named vice-captain for the series to be played at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The 1st ODI will be played on July 22, followed by the 2nd and 3rd one-day games on July 24 and July 27 respectively. Team India is then slated to play a 3-match T20 series vs the Windies starting July 29.

Senior players might have been rested keeping in mind the World T20 later this year. It will though be a golden opportunity for young players like Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav to prove their mettle.
