Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday warned that the coronavirus crisis in the national capital is worsening due to rising air pollution.

He also made an appeal to the people to avoid bursting firecrackers this Diwali.

With the air in Delhi being severely impacted by stubble burning in neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana, Kejriwal said, this could be the reason for the recent spike in Covid-19 cases.

With 6725 fresh Covid-19 cases, the national capital reported its highest single-day spike on Wednesday.
