A speeding Thar jeep driven by a minor crashed into a Sikh religious procession in Raja Park on January 2, 2025. While police reported no injuries, locals claimed that four individuals, including an elderly man, were hurt in the incident.

The crash occurred near Panchvati Circle, where a Nagar Kirtan was taking place. The driver was detained by police shortly after the incident. Authorities also noted that the jeep had an MLA sticker on its windshield, which is currently being verified. Six challans for overspeeding have been issued.

According to police, the vehicle was signaled to stop by officers stationed at the event, but the driver allegedly sped up and continued driving even after hitting people. The car was stopped about 100 meters away by the crowd. Four individuals, who were in the vehicle, fled on foot, but the driver was apprehended. Three others managed to escape, while a woman and a girl were among those injured.
