Actor Prabhas, who is portraying the role of Lord Ram in his upcoming film ‘Adipurush’, was given the honour to perform the Raavan Dahan on Dussehra at the Luv Kush Ramlila at Red Fort grounds in Delhi. The actor shared the stage with 'Adipurush' director Om Raut and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

After the star was felicitated by the organisers with flowers and a scarf, after which he raised a gada (mace) in his hand to the crowd present over there. Following the tradition of the Ravan Dahan, Prabhas took the bow and arrow and fired the shot. Fans were happy to see this and termed him as a ‘perfect casting’ for the film ‘Adipurush’.

According to Hindustan Times, besides the Delhi Police personnel, three units of paramilitary forces and 140 bouncers were present at the event to manage security and crowd. The event was organised on a large scale this year, after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The teaser of ‘Adipurush’ was unveiled on October 2 and has been in news ever since. The mythological movie has been slammed widely for its poor VFX and misrepresentation of characters. ‘Adipurush’ is set to hit the theatres on January 12, 2023, in IMAX and 3D. It will be released in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
