Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most bankable and versatile actors of Bollywood. The star, who completed 10 years in the Hindi film industry in April this year, has carved a niche for himself by selecting films that narrate extraordinary stories. From playing a sperm donor in his debut film to playing a man with erectile dysfunction or a gay lover, Ayushmann has left no stone unturned in impressing critics with his power-packed performances.

Vicky Donor (2012)

Ayushmann portrayed the role of a sperm donor in this romantic-comedy, directed by Shoojit Sircar. The film shows how Dr Baldev, the owner of a fertility clinic and a sperm bank, is on a lookout for a healthy sperm donor, and his search ends when he meets Vicky, a young handsome Punjabi boy. The film, which is actor John Abraham’s maiden production venture, also starred Yami Gautam in a pivotal role.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015)

The actor stars as Prem, a school dropout, in the film, who hesitantly marries an educated but overweight girl, Sandhya, played by Bhumi Pednekar. Their bond becomes stronger when they take part in a race, which involves Prem carrying Sandhya on his back.

Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017)

The Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari directorial narrates the story of Bitti, who falls in love with the author of a novel, titled ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. She decides to track him down with the help of a local printer. Her search makes her cross the paths of two men – Chirag Dubey, who owns a printing press, played by Ayushmann, and Pritam Vidrohi, the supposed writer of the book, played by Rajkummar Rao.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017)

This romantic comedy stars Ayushmann Khurrana alongside Bhumi Pednekar. The film narrates the story of Mudit, who manages to woo Sugandha and they decide to tie the knot. However, ahead of the wedding, their relationship encounters a setback as they discover that he’s suffering fromm erectile dysfunction.

Andhadhun (2018)

Ayushmann played the role of a visually impaired pianist in this film, who unintentionally lands at the murder scene of a former film actor. Following this a series of mysterious events change his life. Inspired by a French short film, titled ‘The Piano Tuner’, also starred Tabu and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles.
